Waskesiu Lake RCMP

Update to previous media release:  

Waskesiu Lake RCMP Detachment would like to notify the public that 66 year old Marina Henderson has been located.  As a result of the RCMP investigation that originated on the morning of June 30 at the Montreal Lake First Nation, 30 year old Kevin Brian Henderson of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, has been charged with the following offences:

·         Attempted murder;

·         Aggravated assault;

·         Kidnapping;

·         Robbery;

·         Two counts of stealing a motor vehicle;

·         Three counts of failing to comply with a recognizance.

In addition, 26 year old Shantel Laureen Mike of Beardy’s Okemasis First Nation, Saskatchewan, has been charged with the following offences:

·         Attempted murder;

·         Aggravated assault;

·         Kidnapping;

·         Robbery;

·         Two counts of stealing a motor vehicle.

The RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Kevin Henderson and Shantel Mike.  If located, do not approach either of the these individuals as they may be armed and dangerous.  Please call your local RCMP Detachment or Crimestoppers.

Blaine Lake RCMP

On June 30, 2014 at approximately 11:51 p.m., Blaine Lake RCMP received a complaint of a pedestrian walking westbound in the east lane on Highway #40, approximately 30 kilometres west of Hafford. While the member was responding to the complaint, he was advised that the pedestrian was involved in a collision with an SUV.

A 39-year-old male, Shaun Pete of the Richard District, was pronounced dead on the scene. The three occupants of the vehicle (adult male, adult female, infant) involved in the collision were not injured.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday, July 3, 2014 in Saskatoon. The adult female driver of the vehicle involved in the collision remained on the scene after the collision and is not facing any charges.

Members from Battlefords RCMP and an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist are assisting with the investigation.

Strasbourg RCMP

Between the night of June 21st and the morning of June 22nd in the resort community of Sun Dale, several vehicles that had been left unlocked were visited. Items including GPS, a wallet, a phone charger and food were stolen. Some of these items were since recovered.

Waskesiu Lake RCMP

Waskesiu Lake RCMP are looking for the public's assistance in locating a vehicle and the registered owner that was involved in an early morning investigation today in Montreal Lake Cree Nation. A Red 2000 Chevrolet Venture Van, Sask Licence Plate 031 JDZ is owned by 66 year old Marina HENDERSON from Montreal Lake Cree Nation. Marina is described as first nation, 173 cm and heavy set, brown hair and brown eyes.

Police were called to the Montreal Lake Medical Clinic shortly after 5 am to investigate an assault that occurred. The vehicle the assault occurred in had departed from the scene before police were able to attend. At this time police want to confirm the well being of the parties involved, in particular the registered owner Marina HENDERSON.

Carnduff RCMP

Carnduff RCMP are advising of heavy flooding at Highway #18 at the Antler River Bridge near the village of Carievale, Saskatchewan. The water has risen significantly, is flowing over the road and the bridge is impassable. Highway #18 where it meets with Highway #9 near Oxbow, east to the Manitoba border is not safe for travel and has been closed by the Department of Highways.

At this point, there is no access by road to the village of Carievale.

Carnduff RCMP and the Department of Highways are on scene.

About 50 calls for service over this 48 hour period, including 8 False Alarms, 2 Municipal Bylaw/Noise Complaints, 6 Traffic complaints, 3 False/Nuisance 911 calls.

1250 pm - Report of person uttering threats on Facebook.  Message reviewed and found to be a verbal argument going back and forth between both parties with numerous insults but no threats.

115 pm - 24 year old male charged with Flight from police, Dangerous Driving and several Traffic Safety Act charges after attempting to stop a motorcycle on 106th Street.  The accused drove at a high rate of speed and ignored the police emergency lights when signalled to stop.  Police did not pursue and located and seized the bike a short time later.  The accused was known to the officer who located the subject shortly after 2 pm when he was taken into custody.  He has since been released from custody and will make his first appearance in court on August 18th.

543 pm - 31 year old male arrested for Causing a Disturbance, found by patrolling member extremely intoxicated and having difficulty standing on 14th Avenue

657 pm - 37 year old male arrested for Causing a Disturbance, found by member extremely intoxicated on 100th Street.

1016 pm - Call of a fight between two persons on 17th Avenue.  40 year old woman and 36 year old man located on scene, both intoxicated and both taken into custody.  40 year old woman is facing one count of Assault.  The male charged with Obstruction and Resisting arrest  after getting into an altercation with members on scene.  Both have since been released from custody.

1023 pm - Mischief to a vehicle parked on 1400 block of 112th Street, sometime during previous evening, sugar poured into gas tank.

1029 pm - Call of two suspects at a residence on 110th Street in possession of bear spray.  Two women, 26 and 22 located and arrested on scene.  22 year old has since been charged with Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.  Investigation ongoing.

1107 pm - 26 year old male arrested after a complaint of an intoxicated male urinating on a vehicle on 110th Street.

1222 am - 53 year old woman and 56 year old male removed from a licensed premise after refusing to leave.

1242 am - Members called to a vehicle which had crashed into the guard rail on the bridges.  The driver had left scene and the vehicle was abandoned.  When members were on scene, the driver returned and was witnessed by members running in front of a vehicle driving by and was struck.  She sustained minor injuries and was treated at hospital and later released.  She was taken into police custody for breaching her curfew on a Deferred custody and supervision order.

128 am - Report of a 12 year old youth, missing from his residence after throwing a tantrum.  Located by members later in evening and returned home.

244 am - 22 year old male arrested on 101st Street, in possession of open alcohol and found to be on several conditions out of Lloydminster.  Found with a concealed knife and facing weapons charges as well.

421 am - Mall calling 911 from a pay phone on 100th Street looking for a ride back to Avenue J in North Battleford.  24 year old male located, quite intoxicated and arrested.  Unaware that no such address exists in the city.  Held in custody until sober.

440 am - 911 call of an assault in progress at a residence on 103rd Street.  Several intoxicated persons involved in an altercation at the residence.  No serious injuries and investigation ongoing.

536 am - 14 year old female youth arrested and charged with Failing to Comply with Undertaking.  Complaint of intoxicated youth causing a scene on 107th Street.  Turned over to parents when sober.

1236 pm - A 22 year old male facing a charge of theft under $5,000, after shoplifting from a business on 101st Street within an hour of his release from cells on unrelated matters.

333 pm - Minor 2 vehicle collision on Carlton Trail reported.  No injuries.

520 pm - 54 year old woman arrested and charged with Causing a Disturbance after report of an intoxicated person passed out on 101st Street.

520 pm - Call of a disturbance and loud party on 105th Street.  44 year old woman arrested for breach of the peace and held in custody until sober.  Warning about noise given.

724 pm - 46 year old woman arrested for Causing a Disturbance, found extremely intoxicated on Battleford Road.

1056 pm - Report of intoxicated people causing a disturbance on Borden Crescent.  16 year old female arrested and charged with Failing to Comply with Probation by consuming alcohol.  A 27 year old male was also arrested for Causing a Disturbance and held in custody until sober.

1108 pm - 60 year old male arrested and charged with Assault after members responded to a 911 call on St Laurent Drive of an Assault in progress.  Accused has been remanded in custody until his first appearance in court on Wednesday July 2nd at 930 am.

423 am - Vehicle driving erratically on St Laurent Drive struck a parked car.  Both vehicles sustained significant damage.  Driver of the car left scene, located and arrested by members a short distance away.  The 16 year old driver remains in custody.  High speeds appear to have been involved and an RCMP accident reconstructionist attended the scene.  Charges are still pending.

2014 June 27

733 am - 911 call of an intoxicated male, known to complainant, sleeping in a back yard on 105th Street.  31 year old male located and provided a ride to a sober relatives.

 

825 am - Vehicle parked on 1300 block of 106th Street vandalized overnight.  Paint scratched and a fire extinguisher emptied inside vehicle.

 

933 am - 26 year old male has been charged with Theft Under $5,000 after a reported shoplifting incident at a business on Railway Avenue.

 

1001 am - Reported fraud, cheque forwarded to an address in Ontario to claim a prize which proved to be non-existent.  Police are reminding the public that any won prize that requires the winner to pay a fee upfront to claim it is almost certainly fraudulent.

 

1123 am - Unwanted and intoxicated guest reported at a residence on 109th Street.  Subject located and left as requested.

 

1138 am - Vehicle parked on 1200 block of 104th Street had a window damaged some time during the night.

 

1232 pm - Vehicle parked on 1300 block of 106th Street scratched some time during the night.

 

157 pm - Theft of a camera reported from a business on 101st Street.

 

416 pm - Shoplifting complaint from a business on Railway Avenue East.  Surveillance footage attained and matter remains under investigation.

 

417 pm - 36 year old male arrested for Assault after a 911 call to a residence on 105th Street.  Suspect later released from custody without charges due to lack of cooperation from complainant.

 

836 pm - 49 year old male arrested for Public intoxication on 100th Street after a call of an intoxicated male offering to give away his urine.  Held in custody until sober.

 

850 pm - 46 year old male arrested and charged with Public Intoxication, found by patrolling members extremely intoxicated and wandering around on 101st Street.

 

1051 pm - Complaint of harassing text messages being received by unknown person.

 

1150 pm - Unwanted guest at a residence on 93rd Street.  All parties sober, subject of complaint provided a ride home to prevent further calls.

 

1157 pm - Call of a domestic dispute at a residence on St Laurent Drive, male reported to be assaulting his wife.  21 year old male arrested on scene is facing Charges of Assault and Resisting Arrest.  He has since been released on several conditions until his first appearance on July 28th, 2014.

330 am - White 1991 Chevrolet Pickup with Saskatchewan License AEX 894 reported stolen from Douglas Avenue.  Still not recovered.

 

336 am - Theft of a mini van on 108th Street.  Stolen by a 34 year old woman while complainant was dropping off a third person.  Vehicle recovered a short time later and complainant refused to proceed with charges.

1054 am - Disturbance at a business on Carlton Drive involving a former employee.  Subject left when police called and later warned not to return.

 

1227 pm - 3 youths reported missing from group home.  All located shortly after 6:00 pm by members and returned.

 

121 pm - Complaint of two sisters fighting/arguing on 100th Street.  Both located.  21 year old female arrested for Causing a disturbance and later released without charges.  Other warned and left area.  No further complaints received.

 

316 pm - Call of intoxicated woman causing a disturbance at a business on 101st Street.  45 year old woman located and arrested.  Later turned over to a sober relative.

 

318 pm - 25 year old woman arrested for Causing a Disturbance after a report of an intoxicated woman yelling at people as they walked by on 101st Street.

 

340 pm - 53 year old woman arrested and charged with Failing to Comply with no alcohol conditions after report of a woman sleeping on 101st Street.

 

503 pm - Report of male violating no contact order.  Subject already left area when police called.  Investigation ongoing.

 

628 pm - Report of male at a business causing a disturbance.  Argument over service mediated by member.

 

640 pm - 44 year old woman arrested after report by a business on Carlton Trail that they had a shoplifter in custody.  Theft charges pending.

 

7:00 pm - Youth reported missing from residence.  Located a short time later.

 

709 pm - 54 year old male arrested for Public Intoxication, found staggering down the street on BlueJay Crescent.

 

855 pm - 50 year old male arrested for Public Intoxication after report of intoxicated male having fallen and unable to stand again on 106th Street.

 

941 pm - Report of two suspects going through a vehicle on 110th Street.  Both Subject located and arrested a short distance away.  22 year old male has been charged with Mischief, and a 17 year old male has been charged with Theft Under $5,000 and Breach of Probation X 2.  Both subject remanded into custody made their first appearances in North Battleford Provincial Court on June 27th.

 

1011 pm - Police then received a call from the grandmother of the 22 year old arrested on the above noted complaint, stating her grandson was currently in the back of a police vehicle, was intoxicated and she wanted him detained for the night.  Wish granted.

 

2014.06.27

1210 am - Complainant reporting two males trying to pick a fight with him near the Don Ross Hill.  Extensive patrols made for suspects, no one located.  No assault occurred.

 

1225 am - Male suffering from a severe cut to his lower leg on St Laurent Drive.  Injury sustained by broken glass.  Subject transported to hospital by ambulance for treatment.  Initial reports were of a possible assault with a weapon, however this has not yet been confirmed.  One witness on scene was arrested for Failing to Comply with no alcohol conditions, but he is not believed to have been involved in the incident which resulted in the injury to the male.  Investigation is ongoing.

 

100 am - Report of an assault on 103rd Street.  Investigation revealed no assault, complainant just upset that suspect was mean.

 

2:00 am - Attempted theft of a vehicle on Trudeau Street, interrupted by a witness.  Suspects fled area, described as 2 males approximately 13-14 years of age.

 

204 am - Missing person reported, last seen about midnight, upset and crying.  Subject returned home by 330 am.

 

233 am - Unwanted, intoxicated guest causing problems at a residence on Foley Drive.  34 year old male arrested for Mischief, held in custody until sober.  No charges pursued.

 

406 am - Report of two suspicious males possibly checking out vehicles on 106th Street.  Patrols negative.

 

431 am - Stolen vehicle recovered on 104th Street.  Two suspects witnessed running from scene.  Two males were arrested and charged in this matter over the weekend.  12 year old male has been charged with Possession of Stolen Property and a 13 year old male has been charged with Possession of Stolen Property and Breach of Probation X 4.

 

506 am - Call of persons trying to break into a camper on 110th Street.  A 21 year old male arrested by members had gained entry to the camper.  Charges include Break and Enter with intent.  A 17 year old youth also located nearby was taken into custody and released to a guardian without charges at this time.  Investigation ongoing.

Carnduff RCMP advise that the town of Gainsborough is under a mandatory evacuation order.  The fire department is going door to door to notify residents, however it is up to a resident whether they leave or not.

18 hwy east of Gainsborough to the Manitoba border is closed and 18 hwy west towards Carievale is becoming washed out.  The grids in the area are also washing out.  Further rain is expected overnight.

The Carievale school, Carnduff school and Carnduff Legion will be taking people in & there will be food available.

Carrot River RCMP

Carrot River RCMP are advising that Hwy #55 travelling east past the Shoal Lake entrance road has several locations where water has cut the road, and at least one of the bridges has been washed out. Travel is no longer possible between Shoal Lake First Nation Reserve and The Pas, Manitoba. Drivers are advised to delay travel or to find alternate routes.

Indian Head RCMP is reporting that 1 Hwy at the 47 hwy intersection near Wolseley is closed due to four feet of water submerging the east and west bound lanes of travel.

Traffic is being re-routed both eastbound & westbound.

For traffic heading east - go southbound at 35 hwy then go east on 48 hwy.

For traffic heading west - go southbound at 47 hwy then go west on 48 hwy.

Moosomin RCMP

Moosomin RCMP along with Department of Highways employees from Moosomin, are reporting heavy rains continue and flooding continues from Spyhill to Moosomin.  Therefore Highway 8 has been closed until further notice from Moosomin at the # 1, northbound past Rocanville to Spyhill.  Motorists are instructed to not travel that portion of Hwy 8.  Severe flooding is crossing the main highway and many secondary gravel roads as well.  Debris is piling up on the roads creating an additional hazard to fast moving water.

Moosomin RCMP is reporting that heavy rainfall has caused flooding around the Moosomin area. Presently a section of the #8 Highway located 7 miles north of Moosomin is submerged in water and not passable. A vehicle which attempted to navigate the water drove off the road and is in the ditch. No reports of any injuries. The Department of Highways is attending but the road is closed at this time. Motorists are asked to take alternate routes when travelling in this area. Additional updates will be provided when they become available.

Carlyle RCMP

Carlyle RCMP are advising of heavy flooding around the Redvers area. A section of the #13 Highway 4 km west of Redvers is washed out and is not passable.  Sections of #13 Highway east of Redvers are also covered in water and not passable. A large section of the #8 Highway south of Redvers around Storthoaks is submerged in water and not passable. The Carlyle RCMP and Department of Highways are on scene. It is strongly recommended that motorists seek alternate routes when travelling in this area.

There have been several reports of vehicles getting stuck in the flood waters but no reports of injuries.

Carrot River RCMP

On June 28th, 2014 at 8:15a.m., Carrot River RCMP was dispatched to a single vehicle roll over on Highway 55 in between Red Earth First Nation and Shoal Lake First Nation. Carrot River Fire Department and North East EMS were also dispatched.

All occupants of the vehicle were transported to Nipawin Hospital. One of the occupants was subsequently taken to Royal University Hospital via STARS air ambulance with severe head injuries.

A traffic collision Reconstructionist attended the scene.

RCMP are still investigating the collision and charges have not been laid at this point.

Speed, alcohol, and road conditions are believed to be a factor.

Carlyle RCMP

Carlyle RCMP Media Release

On June 28 2014 at 3:00 am Carlyle RCMP, EMS and Fire Department responded to a single vehicle roll-over 4 miles west of Arcola along Highway #13.   A Chevrolet Avalanche was heading west bound on Highway 13 when it lost control, entered the north ditch and rolled.  The 25 year old male driver was alone at the time and died at the scene.  An RCMP collision re-constructionist is on scene with members of the Carlyle RCMP Detachment.  Traffic will be impeded until this portion of the investigation is complete.  The name of the deceased is not being released until family has been notified.  

More details will be released as they become available.
