Pelican Narrows RCMP

Pelican Narrows RCMP have laid charges against a second male in relation to the multiple shooting incident which took place in Pelican Narrows, Saskatchewan during the early morning hours of June 14, 2014 (As per our previously attached release).

22 year old Scott Donald Roberts was arrested yesterday after the investigation revealed he and Travis Alphonse Sewap took turns shooting into a group of people with a .22 calibre rifle where three victims suffered gunshot wounds.   

Scott Donald Roberts is charged with:

3 counts of assault with a weapon, Section 267 of the Criminal Code

1 count of discharging a firearm with intent, Section 244 of the Criminal Code

1 count of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, section 88(2) of the Criminal Code

Scott Roberts has been remanded to Prince Albert Provincial Court on Wednesday, July 2, 2014.   Travis Sewap’s charges are still before the courts and will appear in Pelican Narrows Provincial Court on Monday, July 21, 2014.



Sturgeon Lake RCMP



On Thursday June 19th, 2014 at about 10:30 PM a 27 year old female from Sturgeon Lake First Nation was walking on Sturgeon Lake Road, Sturgeon Lake First Nation and was hit by an unknown light coloured vehicle that left the scene. The vehicle sustained damage to the driver's side.


The victim received undetermined injuries, and was transported to Saskatoon for treatment. These injuries are not life threatening.

Lloydminster/Maidstone RCMP

On June 27 2014 at 12:33 pm Maidstone and Lloydminster RCMP responded to a traffic collision at the intersection of Highway 303 and Highway 16. A SUV was heading east bound on Highway 16 and attempted to make a left hand turn across the west bound lanes of Highway 16 onto highway 303. The SUV was struck in the side by a car heading westbound on Highway 16. The elderly woman passenger of the SUV died on scene. Both male drivers have critical injuries and will be airlifted to Saskatoon's Royal University hospital. An RCMP Collision re-constructionist is on scene.  Traffic will be impeded until this portion of the investigation is complete. At the request of the family names are not being released at this time.

Saskatchewan RCMP


11:00 a.m.


On June 8, 2014 at approximately 1:10 a.m., Melfort RCMP received a complaint of an impaired driver.  While conducting patrols in an attempt to locate the suspect vehicle, members from the Melfort RCMP located and stopped the suspect vehicle at approximately 1:50 a.m. on Highway #3, one mile east of Weldon, Saskatchewan.  The driver of the vehicle showed obvious signs of intoxication and was arrested for impaired driving.


As a result of the investigation, Terry HYGGEN was charged with impaired driving, contrary to section 253 (1)(a) of the Criminal Code and drive over .08, contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code. Terry HYGGEN is a serving member from the Yorkton Municipal RCMP Detachment at the corporal rank.  In addition to the criminal charges,

Cpl. HYGGEN is the subject of a code of conduct investigation into the allegations.  Cpl. HYGGEN has been on administrative leave since June 24, 2014.

Terry HYGGEN was scheduled to make his first court appearance on July 15, 2014 in Melfort, Saskatchewan.  However, on June 24, 2014, he plead guilty to the offence of drive over .08, contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code and was sentenced.
