RCMP Sunset-Retreat Ceremony


Regina, June 26, 2014 – Starting July 1 and continuing every Tuesday

up to and including August 12, join “Depot” Division for an evening

of pride and tradition as it hosts the annual RCMP Sunset-Retreat




July: 1, 8, 15, 22, 29

August: 5, 12


Each ceremony starts promptly at 6:45 p.m. on the Parade Square and

lasts approximately one hour. Visitors are encouraged to arrive by 6:30

p.m. The ceremony includes a performance by our cadet marching band, a

cannon drill, RCMP cadets performing dismounted cavalry drills in the

famous scarlet tunic and the lowering of the Canadian flag. Safety Bear

and riders on horseback will also be present before and after the

ceremony, so don’t forget your camera!


Access to the site is available via the RCMP Heritage Centre entrance

on Dewdney Avenue. Bring your own lawn chairs or blankets as seating is

not provided. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be cancelled.

Listen to your local radio stations for announcements.


On Sunset Ceremony evenings, the RCMP Heritage Centre will remain open

until 9 p.m., with free admission after 6 p.m. There are things to see

and do at the Centre before and after the ceremony and a food truck will

be on site for those needing refreshments. Don't forget to drop into the

gift shop for some great deals on a wide variety of RCMP merchandise.

Maple Creek RCMP


11:18 a.m.


Maple Creek RCMP members are currently on the scene of a two vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and enclosed transport truck at the intersection of Highway #1 and Highway #21, north of Maple Creek, SK. The collision was reported to RCMP at approximately 9:30 a.m.


The lone male driver of the motorcycle was heading westbound on Highway #1 when he struck the rear of the transport truck which was crossing the junction of Highway #1 and #21. The transport truck was heading northbound on Highway #21.


The 47 year old driver of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased on scene. The lone driver of the transport truck did not require medical attention.


The westbound lane on Highway #1 is down to one lane. The northbound and southbound lane is rerouted on Highway #21. Drivers can expect delays in this area.


RCMP traffic analyst is en-route to the scene.


As more information becomes available, further updates will be provided.  RCMP advises that if driving in the area, please expect delays and ensure that you slow down to 60 km an hour when passing emergency workers and tow trucks.



North Battleford RCMP

Over 30 calls for service/occurrences reported, including 3 False Alarms, 6 traffic complaints, 3 False/Nuisance 911 calls, 3 complaints of suspicious persons,



733 am - Business Break and Enter on Commerce Drive, occurred some time overnight.  ATV reported missing.


743 am - Vehicle parked on Foley Drive overnight gone through.  Wallet taken.


804 am - Report of a male passed out by underpass.  Members located a male is requiring medical assistance due to a pre-existing condition and subject transported to hospital.


222 pm - Vehicle parked on 108th Street overnight gone through.  Nothing taken but two phones left behind by suspect(s).


308 pm - Theft of a bike from 92nd Street, a Black BMX.


353 pm - Report of shoplifting at a business on 101st Street, subject also reported to have assault staff.  24 year old male arrested and now facing charges of Theft Under, Assault X 2 and Fail to Comply with probation X 3.  He is to make his first appearance in court on Thursday June 26th at 930 am.  A 19 year old female was also arrested during this occurrence, she has since been released without charges at this time.


405 pm - Intoxicated male bothering people on 101st Street, patrols for subject negative.


539 pm - Vehicle tires slashed on 1200 block of 111th Street.


644 pm - Complaint of an assault on Territorial Drive.  No injuries reported and complainant did not wish to have matter pursued.


834 pm - Report of several males fighting on 102nd street.  Members located and arrested three males, ages 27, 16 and 22, all very intoxicated.  Held in custody until sober.


840 pm - Report of a theft of a long board on 104th Street.  Subject known to victim.


857 pm - 48 year old male arrested and charged with Assault after subject was witnessed by members assaulting a female in a wheelchair on 102nd Street.  The victim and accused are known to each other.  The victim was not injured.  Both were very intoxicated.  The male remains in custody and is to appear in court at 930 am on Thursday June 26th.


940 pm - 15 year old reported missing from a group home.  Located by staff a short time later and returned.


1010 pm - Break and enter to a residence some time during previous 5 days on 1000 block of 111th Street.



319 am - 40 year old woman found sitting in a flower pot on 101st Street.  Arrested and charged with Failing to Comply with no alcohol conditions.  Flowers expected to perk up now that no one is sitting on them anymore.
