On June 10th, 2014, at approximately 5 pm, a resident of the Muskowekwan First Nations located what are believed to be human remains in a wooded area near his property. The Punnichy RCMP were contacted and have secured the scene which is northeast of the village, in order for the investigation to be conducted.
The Office of the Chief Coroner, a Forensic Anthropologist, Yorkton Forensic Identification Section and the RCMP Major Crime Unit South are working to confirm the remains are human and positively identify them.

Over 30 calls for service/occurrence reported, including 2 False Alarms, 1 False/nuisance 911 call, 2 Traffic complaints,
630 am - Hit and run on Douglas Avenue reported. Vehicle struck while parked in driveway some time between 4am and time of complaint.
913 am - Break and enter to a hotel room on Highway 16 Bypass, television reported stolen.
921 am - Vehicle parked on Pearson Avenue gone through some time overnight.
933 am - Theft of a Red 2000 Dodge Dakota with License 711 JEZ from Gardiner Drive, believed linked to the earlier reported Hit and Run.
1017 am - Second Hit and run, this on Gardiner Drive, reported. Also believed related to stolen vehicle file.
1141 am - Minor single vehicle collision on 100th Street near 11th Avenue. No injuries.
140 pm - Report of intoxicated woman on 5th Avenue, 54 year old woman located and arrested for same.
150 pm - 2 vehicle collision on 10th Avenue. No injuries reported, both vehicle sustained damage but were both able to drive away under their own power. Charges pursued against one driver for failing to yield.
221 pm - Report of a sexual assault from the previous day. Suspect and alleged victim know each other. Matter still under investigation.
318 pm - Report of a gunshot heard on 1200 block of 106th Street. Other witness reported seeing a firecracker go off. No suspect(s) located.
422 pm - Complaint of intoxicated people drinking and causing a disturbance on 101st Street. A 58 year old woman and a 40 year old man both located and arrested for Causing a Disturbance, charges still pending.
541 pm - Damage to rental property on 109th Street reported.
615 pm - Shoplifting complaint from a business on Railway Avenue East. Surveillance footage available and awaiting review of same.
627 pm - Report of a male on 1700 block of 100th Street who punched out a vehicle window. 47 year old man located and arrested, has been charged with one count of Mischief.
700 pm - Report of a 14 year old female missing. Serita LONESINGER last seen on 15th avenue at about 4 pm, was wearing brown pants, black sleeveless shirt, and was carrying a large white hand bag. Her hair was tied back and is blonde and light brown in colour. Several residences were checked overnight without success.
835 pm - Report of an attempted break and enter to a home on 105th Street, some time in last 4 days. Complainant noticed some damage to a window.
923 pm - Report of a bunch of intoxicated people on 101st Street. Members located and arrested 7 individuals for Public Intoxication. 51 year old woman, 56 year old man, 48 year old man and a 41 year old woman also all facing charges under the Liquor Act. 46 year old woman, 52 year old man and a 41 year old man held in custody until sober.
1150 pm - Report of unwanted person at a residence on 99th Street. A 32 year old male located on scene, intoxicated and refusing to leave, was arrested and held in custody until sober.
149 am - 35 year old male arrested on 107th Street for warrants out of another detachment. To appear in North Battleford Provincial Court at 930 am on Thursday June 12th.
