Loon Lake RCMP

On December 9th, 2013 Loon Lake Detachment responded to a 911 call advising there were twin boys who were unresponsive on the Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation. An investigation was completed as a result of their deaths. Loon Lake detachment have completed the investigation and the cause of death was determined to be non-criminal in nature.

Background:

 

On the morning of December 9th, 2013, members were called to a residence on the Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation to attend a call of two male twin infants seven months in age not breathing. Makwa Sahgaiehcan FN is 55 kms west of Meadow Lake. Both infants were transported to the hospital where they were pronounced dead a short time later. The cause of death has yet to be determined. Autopsies are scheduled for Wednesday December 11, 2013. As with all sudden deaths, investigators are treating these deaths as suspicious until proven otherwise. This matter is currently under investigation by the Loon Lake RCMP and RCMP Major Crimes Unit North.

105am - Two youth, both age 13, reported missing from youth care home. Both remain at large at this time. Keana BENSON is described as thin, approximately 5'6", 125lbs, dark brown hair. Hannah BOLIG last scene wearing a dark hoody, 5' 3", 110lbs, with brown hair.

9:40 a.m.

This morning at 12:15 a.m., Ponteix RCMP received a report of a missing female. Katrina Ursuliak is described as 5’10”, 130 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Katrina has not been seen since March 25 and was not dressed appropriately for the weather. She was last believed to be wearing a black t-shirt, black track pants and a grey hooded sweater.

 

Investigators believe she may have exited a newer model black Jeep Cherokee somewhere on Highway #4 between Cadillac and Val Marie, Saskatchewan. Anyone who traveled on Highway #4 between Cadillac and Val Marie on March 25 are asked to recall if they saw the black Jeep Cherokee stopped. Anyone with any information regarding Katrina is asked to contact the Ponteix RCMP Detachment at 306-625-6400.

Approximately 20 calls for service.  2 Alarms responded to, both false.  3 false/nuisance 911 call.

803am - Vehicle parked overnight on 1600 block of St Laurent entered and gone through.

 

519pm - 14 year old reported missing.  Frequent recent history of similar issues.  Located by members at a residence and returned home.

 

534pm - Members called to a residential alarm on 104th street, person on site advising there is a break and enter in progress.  Investigation shown no break and enter, two roommates having a disagreement about rent and one subject had to crawl through a window when they were locked out.

 

805pm - Report of a fight on Carlton trail.  Both parties separated.  No charges pursued as investigation shown subjects engaged in consensual fight.

 

944pm - Report of several youth on the roof of a house on 103rd street throwing things at a car.  Suspects not located.

 

105am - Two youth, both age 13, reported missing from youth care home.  Both remain at large at this time.  Keana BENSON is described as thin, approximately 5'6", 125lbs, dark brown hair.  Hannah BOLIG last scene wearing a dark hoody, 5' 3", 110lbs, with brown hair.

 

138am - North Battleford RCMP are investigating an Assault with a Weapon reported in the early morning hours of Wednesday March 26th.  A man was assaulted by several individuals at a home on the 1400 block of 111th Street, the suspects then fled the area.  Members with the assistance of the Police Dog Unit completed a thorough search of the area, and one 18 year old male was arrested and currently remains in custody.  The victim is currently being treated in hospital with a suspected stab wound to the torso, his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.  The investigation is ongoing.

North Battleford RCMP are investigating an Assault with a Weapon reported in the early morning hours of Wednesday March 26th.  A man was assaulted by several individuals at a home on the 1400 block of 111th Street, the suspects then fled the area.  Members with the assistance of the Police Dog Unit completed a thorough search of the area, and one 18 year old male was arrested and currently remains in custody.  The victim is currently being treated in hospital with a suspected stab wound to the torso, his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.  The investigation is ongoing.
