On February 3rd at 3:57 p.m. Biggar RCMP received a call regarding a school bus vs. passenger truck collision. The collision occurred approximately 24 km north of Biggar on 4 highway. The school bus was a 36 passenger bus which had three grade school children on it. The truck involved was a Ford F250 pulling a cattle trailer and was parked off to the side of the highway facing north off the north bound lane. It had a mechanical issue and was waiting for assistance. There were two persons belonging to the parked vehicle, who were with the vehicle, prior to the collision. One adult male was inside the truck while a 39 year old female was outside of the vehicle on the highway prior to the collision., The school bus was travelling north bound prior to the collision. The female, from the Biggar area, sustained life threatening injuries as a result of the collision. The adult male was not injured.
Biggar EMS, FIRE and RCMP were dispatched. EMS transported the female to Biggar hospital. She succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased. The family has been notified. Her name is not being released at this time.
The three children on the bus were transported to Biggar hospital as a precaution and are being monitored. The bus driver is also being held overnight the same hospital for observation. The extent of his injuries is not known.
Highway 4 will be closed at the scene. This may be in effect for 5-6 hours while an RCMP Collision Analyst conducts his investigation into the cause of this collision. Motorists are asked to avoid highway travel between Cando and Biggar until the highway is re-opened.

The name of the victim in this homicide is Bryan Darnell Blackstar (24 yrs old)

At approximately 4:40 am on February 2, 2014 North Battleford Rural RCMP responded to a report of an assault at a residence on the Moosomin First Nation. The 24 year old male victim from the Moosomin FN who was located within the same residence, died at the scene.
In addition to the North Battleford Rural RCMP detachment members, North Battleford and Meadow Lake Police Dog Services, North Battleford General Investigation Section, Battleford Forensic Identification Services, and Major Crimes Unit - North are assisting with the investigation.
There had been a number of people at the residence where this homicide occurred. Numerous statements have been taken thus far. Through investigation into this matter, RCMP have identified two suspects who were known to the victim. A 19 year old male and a 18 year old male are currently in custody.
An autopsy to determine cause of death has been tentatively set for tomorrow.
As this investigation is in the preliminary stages, further information will be released when it becomes available.

407pm - Theft of mail reported on 96th Street. Suspect known to complainant.
803pm - Intoxicated male on 2600 block of 98th Street with no place to go. A friend was located and agreed to take him in and subject taken to residence.
938pm - Intoxicated female passed out in a cab on 101st Street. Subject found to be wanted on numerous warrants. Arrested without incident and remanded for court on Monday February 3rd at
200am - 24 hour driving suspension after vehicle stop on Railway Avenue East for Driving while over .04.
332am - 56 year old female arrested for public intoxication after report on 105th Street of an unknown woman trying to gain access to a residence.
355am - Noise complaint on Winder Crescent. Warning given.
631am - Single vehicle collision with a post on 110th Street. No injuries, vehicle towed.
1030am - Mischief to property on Ross Crescent. Window to residence damage. Suspects known to complainant.
1125am - Report of two young boys under 12 in are of Clements Drive, walking around carrying what appeared to be pellet or air guns. Patrols negative.
1130am - Another coyote sighting, this one near Douglas Avenue. Search of area negative.
1240pm - 911 call to a residence on St Laurent Drive. Intoxicated male refusing to leave, who was causing problems. 44 year old arrested for Breach of the Peace. No charges pursued.
1243pm - 47 year old woman arrested for public intoxication, found extremely intoxicated and unable to stand at 13th Avenue. near 101st Street.
205pm - Vehicle parked on 500 block of 101st Street had mirror damaged some time over night.
319pm - 31 year old male arrested for public intoxication after complaint of male, intoxicated and belligerent on 107th Street. Facing charge under Liquor Act.
400pm - 41 year old man arrested on 101st street for public intoxication.
425pm - 23 year old woman arrested for public intoxication off 100th Street.
707pm - 33 year old man arrested and now facing charge of Voyeurism after an investigation into an allegation made on Friday evening. Male has since been released from custody and is scheduled to make his first appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court on March 3rd, 2014 at 1000am. Investigation is ongoing.
715pm - Unwanted, intoxicated guest on Trudeau Street. Subject left when police called and was not located.
806pm - 911 call of an assault on 114th Street. Numerous intoxicated person located at scene. Complainant located was not injured and was now stating she did not want any charges pursued. A 55 year old woman was arrested for assault and held in custody until sober. Two males, ages 24 and 42 were arrested for Public Intoxication, and an third male, 22, was arrested for Obstruction and Public Intoxication after repeatedly interfering with the investigation as a self identified fountain of legal knowledge. All held in custody until sober.
827pm - Complaint of intoxicated person at a residence on Trudeau Street causing problems. When police arrived, they were advised that now the person was behaving and everything was fine.
935pm - 56 year old woman arrested for public intoxication located near 100th Street and 11th Avenue.
1027pm - 911 call to a residence on 800 block of 110th Street of an Assault in progress with a knife. A 51 year old man was arrested on scene and has been charged with one count of Assault with a weapon. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on Monday February 3rd at 930am. No on was injured in the alleged assault. A 16 year old female youth is also facing charges of Assault, Assault with a Weapon, and Failing to Comply with an Undertaking.
119am - Vehicle damaged and broken into while parked on Clark Drive. Two suspects, one male and one female, witnessed by complainant fleeing the scene in a dark 4 door car with an unknown plate number.
309am - Caller on Clark Drive reporting there is a van legally parked along the sidewalk that has been running for 20 minutes with no one in it.
415am - 24 hour driving suspension after vehicle stop on 100th Street.
940am - 911 call of a domestic disturbance on 106th Street. Two subjects located. No criminal offence, just arguing. Warned about the noise.
958am - Vehicle parked on Kildeer Drive overnight sustained damage to steering column.
408pm - Vehicle parked on St Laurent Drive overnight sustained damage to steering column.
720pm - Harassment complaint. Two subject arguing, spreading rumours about each other of Facebook. Both agreed to stop after discussion with responding member.
1025pm - 911 complaint of an assault at a residence on 107th Street. A 21 year old male arrested on scene has been charged with Assault with a Weapon, Assault Causing Bodily Harm and Breach of Probation X 3. The victim was treated at hospital for non life threatening injuries.
