The RCMP is now clear of the highway #11 south of Lumsden.

Please see attached a photo from the scene of a four vehicle collision on Highway #11 south of Lumsden, Saskatchewan near the exit “C” curve. Traffic is being detoured through exit “C” and back up onto Highway #11. Motorists should expect delays.

*Lumsden, *Southey & *White Butte RCMP Detachment are currently on scene of a four vehicle collision on Highway #11 south of Lumsden, Saskatchewan near the exit “C” curve. Traffic is being detoured through exit “C” and back up onto Highway #11. Motorists should expect delays.

Craik RCMP Detachment is currently on scene of a two vehicle collision on Highway #11 south of Craik, Saskatchewan. Motorists should expect delays.There are limited details available for both collisions at this time as RCMP members are currently on scene.

Road conditions are poor in several areas of the province and the RCMP is asking motorists to slow down and use caution when traveling on roadways as they are snow covered and icy. Before heading out, contact the Highway Hotline for updates on road conditions.

On January 3rd 2014 at 1830 hrs RCMP received a call of a pedestrian hit and run on Big River First Nations.  RCMP from Big River and Spiritwood attended to the call and found a 41 year old male had been struck by a vehicle which had left the scene.  The male was air lifted to hospital with undetermined injuries.  The vehicle driver later returned to the scene.  Alcohol was not a factor.  The investigation is ongoing.

On Saturday afternoon a man called 911 to report he had no heat in his house. Shellbrook RCMP were dispatched to the call and attended the residence on Ahtahkakoop First Nation. A 70 year old man was found inside the residence and police confirmed the furnace in the house was not functioning properly. Police called for a housing maintenance person to assist with the situation.

Sometime between December 23, 2013 and January 3, 2014 a black 16 ft 2008 Rainbow trailer was stolen from the new subdivision in Muenster, SK. The trailer was loaded with new grey vinyl siding along with corners, caps, trim and channels.  Anyone with any information about this crime is asked to call the Humboldt RCMP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).
