Maidstone RCMP

Maidstone RCMP wish to advise that conditions are becoming extremely icy on roads in their area.  Patches of black ice has been noted on Highway 16 from Lloydminister to North Battleford as well as Highway 303 from Lloydminister to Highway 21.

Craik RCMP

4:30 p.m.

 

Craik RCMP Detachment has now cleared the collision scene on Highway #11 south of Craik, Saskatchewan. A Saturn Ion car with two passengers, traveling in the southbound lane, lost control. A Pontiac Grand Prix with four passengers, traveling behind the Saturn Ion, collided with it.

 

The female driver of the Pontiac Grand Prix was transported by EMS to hospital in Regina with undetermined injuries. There are no other injuries as a result of the collision. Both vehicles were destroyed.

 

Motorists are advised to take precautions on the roadways due to snow and ice. Check the Highway Hotline before heading out.

*Lumsden, *Southey & *White Butte RCMP Detachment are currently on scene of a four vehicle collision on Highway #11 south of Lumsden, Saskatchewan near the exit “C” curve. Traffic is being detoured through exit “C” and back up onto Highway #11. Motorists should expect delays.

 

Craik RCMP Detachment is currently on scene of a two vehicle collision on Highway #11 south of Craik, Saskatchewan. Motorists should expect delays.There are limited details available for both collisions at this time as RCMP members are currently on scene.

North Battleford RCMP

A male has been arrested in connected with the below reported incident.  The suspect in this matter became aware the police were looking from him in connection with this incident and turned himself in at the North Battleford RCMP Detachment.  The 26 year old male from Cut Knife will be remanded on a charge of Aggravated Assault and is scheduled to make his first appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court on Monday January 6th at 930am.

1139am - Report of a stabbing on 104th street. Male victim located on scene suffering from single stab wound to chest area. Second male victim on scene suffering from injuries to head/face area from some type of blunt instrument. Both treated at hospital for injuries. Neither victim nor witnesses on scene were cooperative with investigation. Investigation is ongoing.

Red Deer Homicide – Update #4 – RCMP offer $5,000 for information leading to arrest of Adam Bird

 

January 1, 2014 marked the one year anniversary of the murder of Lloyd Sarson in Red Deer, Alta. Adam Bird (aka: "Gwap") was charged with first-degree murder and a Canada-wide arrest warrant was issued on Jan. 8, 2013. The RCMP have partnered with other police agencies in Canada in an effort to locate and apprehend Adam Bird. To date, Bird remains at large. RCMP are now offering $5,000 for information which leads to the arrest of Adam Bird in relation to the murder of Lloyd Sarson.

 

 Adam Bird is believed to be associated with an organized crime group with ties in Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario and British Columbia.

 

Because Adam Bird was 17 years old at the time of the homicide of Lloyd Sarson, a Sec 110(4) YCJA Order authorizing the publication of the name of a young person was obtained on Jan. 9, 2013. On Jan. 3, 2014 another Order under Section 110(4) of the YCJA was issued granting the RCMP the ability to release Adam Bird’s name and photograph for a 5 day period. The order will expire at the end of the day Tuesday Jan 7, 2014.

Moose Jaw RCMP

2:00 p.m.

 

Moose Jaw RCMP Detachment is currently on scene of a two vehicle semi collision on Highway #2, approximately two miles south of Tuxford, Saskatchewan. An empty semi-tractor flatbed trailer unit was driving on the highway when it applied its brakes. An empty semi-tractor livestock trailer unit was traveling behind it when it hit the first semi unit from behind.

 

The driver of the semi tractor livestock trailer unit was transported by ambulance to Moose Jaw Union Hospital with undetermined injuries. The driver of the other semi unit was not injured.

 

Road conditions were poor at the time of the collision and continue to be. Moose Jaw RCMP are asking motorists to slow down and use caution when driving on highways in the area as they are snow covered and icy.

 

A tow truck has been dispatched to clear the debris from both semis, but it is traveling from Saskatoon and it will be approximately 3-4 hours before the collision scene is completely open. Traffic is restricted, but is moving slowly in both directions. Please avoid the collision scene if possible.

Shellbrook RCMP

12:10 p.m.

 

On January 2, 2014 Shellbrook RCMP responded to a complaint of a possible stolen vehicle being driven in the Shellbrook district. Police located the stolen vehicle while being driven and arrested a 46 year old male and a 44 year old female for possession of stolen property. The stolen vehicle was seized and the suspects were taken into custody. Both suspects were later released from custody facing criminal code charges for possession of stolen property and will appear in Provincial Court in Shellbrook on February 4, 2014.

 

Later that same day Shellbrook RCMP received a complaint of a stolen vehicle in Shellbrook. RCMP investigated the complaint and with the assistance of Saskatoon Police Service the second stolen vehicle was recovered in Saskatoon. The same 44 year old male was arrested by Saskatoon Police Service and will be appearing in Saskatoon Provincial Court today to face more criminal code charges related to the stolen vehicle recovered by police in Saskatoon.

 

Police remind the public to always remove the keys and lock the doors of their vehicle as it only takes seconds for a criminal to drive away in a running vehicle.

1212pm - Vandalism to a vehicle parked on Diefenbaker Drive.  Vehicle sustained damage to front bumper, unsure if hit and run or deliberate mischief.

 

130pm - Minor two vehicle collision on 102nd Street and Railway Avenue.  No injuries and no traffic disruptions.

 

259pm - Two vehicle collision on Railway Avenue East near Highway 40 junction.  Both vehicles sustained significant damage and were towed from scene.  One person taken to hospital with non-lifethreatening injuries.  Cause of collision is still under investigation.

 

347pm - Harassment complaint.  Few details provided.  Investigation ongoing.

 

626pm - 43 year old male arrested and facing charges of Assault, Assault with a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose after a dispatch to a residence on the 1500 block of 105th Street.  Complaint received of an assault in progress at residence.  Accused has since been released from custody pending his first appearance on conditions that include no contact with the alleged victim.

 

703pm - Complaint of a deer on Territorial Drive and thought it might get hit.  Deer warned about jaywalking.

 

715pm - 30 year old male arrested for public intoxication, found by patrolling members on 102nd Street.

 

905pm - Report of an assault via a third party.  Few details available at this time, matter remains under investigation.

 

1012pm - Theft of vehicle reported from Walker Drive.  2004 Grand Am, blue in colour, with Saskatchewan License 001 IFL.

 

1014pm - 31 year old male arrested and charged with Driving While Disqualified after vehicle stop on 101st Street.

 

1055pm - 46 year old woman arrested on 101st Street for warrants out of Saskatoon.

 

1100pm - 30 year old male arrested on outstanding warrants and facing new Breach charges after arrest on 108th Street.

 

1158pm - Suspicious person in and around a residence on 102nd Street.   Patrols negative.

0122am - Two youth arrested and facing Breach charges after patrolling members located them out after curfew.

 

133am - Report of an attempted entry into a vehicle parked on 1100 block of 112th Street.  Suspects described as three young males.

 

154am - 27 year old woman arrested and facing charges of Impaired Driving, Driving while over .08 and Driving While Disqualified after vehicle stop on 101st Street.

 

250am - 29 year old man and 41 year old man arrested for Public Intoxication, located by patrolling members fighting on 101st Street.  41 year old also found to be on warrant status from Glaslyn.

 

347am - Report of unwanted, intoxicated persons at a residence on 108th Street.  A 30 year old male was found to be in violation of a Conditional Sentence Order and arrested.  A 22 year old female at the residence was also arrested on outstanding warrants.
