Punnichy RCMP

Punnichy RCMP Detachment,  in conjunction with  General Investigation Section, Polygraph and other support units, were successful in laying charges related to two dated aggravated assaults on an infant child.   On February 29th 2012 a 10 month old infant was brought into Fort Qu’Appelle Hospital with a broken femur.  The incident happened on the Kawacatoose First Nation.  There was insufficient evidence to be able to lay charges.  The investigation was ongoing, when on Sept 26th 2012, a second serious injury on the same infant was reported to the police.

On Dec. 19th 2013 enough evidence had been gathered to be able to lay two Criminal Code charges against one adult male from the Kawacatoose First Nation community.  The suspect was charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault, Section 268(2) of the Criminal Code.  The suspect is scheduled to  appear in court in Punnichy on February 25th, 2014.
