Punnichy RCMP Detachment, in conjunction with General Investigation Section, Polygraph and other support units, were successful in laying charges related to two dated aggravated assaults on an infant child. On February 29th 2012 a 10 month old infant was brought into Fort Qu’Appelle Hospital with a broken femur. The incident happened on the Kawacatoose First Nation. There was insufficient evidence to be able to lay charges. The investigation was ongoing, when on Sept 26th 2012, a second serious injury on the same infant was reported to the police.
On Dec. 19th 2013 enough evidence had been gathered to be able to lay two Criminal Code charges against one adult male from the Kawacatoose First Nation community. The suspect was charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault, Section 268(2) of the Criminal Code. The suspect is scheduled to appear in court in Punnichy on February 25th, 2014.

Information on Reportable Collisions
Police would like to remind the public that an accident must be reported to police whenever there are injuries, if the vehicle is damaged to the point that it cannot be driven, if alcohol or drugs are involved or if the vehicle is registered out of province. Further, the accident must be reported immediately and the driver must provide the police information as required.

On December 9th, 2013, the Patuanak RCMP opened an investigation into the allegations that a puppy was set on fire using an accelerant which has left the puppy badly injured and scarred. This incident was alleged to have happened in Patuanak on an unknown date, but is believed to have happened around Halloween of this year.
The puppy was transported to the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society in Calgary where he received multiple surgeries and is expected to make a good recovery. The puppy has since been named by the Rescue Society and is now know as "Nero." You can follow Nero's journey on facebook by following the following link:
The Patuanak RCMP and the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society are working together to identify a suspect(s) in regards to this incident. It is requested that anyone with any information relating to this incident to please come forward. The Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society has released a Reward poster and a reward of up to $5000 for any information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of any person's responsible for these actions.

North Battleford RCMP are continuing their investigation into a shoplifting incident at a business in North Battleford on the afternoon on November 23rd, 2013. Find attached pictures of a male and female subjects who are persons of interest in this investigation. Some time between 1pm and 2pm on the noted dates, 7 shelves full of perfume were stolen from a business on Railway Avenue East in North Battleford. Over 30 occurrences/reported incidents. 2 False/nuisance 911 Call. 2 alarms responded to, both false.
809am - Two vehicle collision at intersection of 109th Street and 6 Avenue. No injuries, both vehicles were towed from scene. Cause still under investigation.
838am - Two vehicle collision on 98th Street. Some minor traffic disruptions. No injuries, both vehicles had to be towed from scene. No charges pursued.
1146am - Two vehicle collision on 105th Street and 11th Avenue. One vehicle had to be towed from scene. No injuries reported.
1245pm - Vehicle parked on 800 block of 111th Street entered some time overnight. Nothing missing and no damage to the vehicle reported.
201pm - 53 year old male arrested for Breach of Probation on 98th Street. Has since been released for court date in new year.
231pm - Report of a vehicle clipping a pedestrian in the arm as it drove by on 17th Avenue. Complainant suffering from injury to an arm. Advised incident occurred at approximately 950am that morning.
255pm - Hit and run to property on 1100 block of 105th Street. Some time during the morning or early afternoon, an unknown vehicle appears to have struck a brick fence at a residence on the street.
554pm - A call to the police station advising there is a bag of water softener salt at the bottom of Don Ross Hill and complainant wanted members to remove it. To be fair the snow at the bottom of the hill was pretty hard.
604pm - 911 call of unwanted guest at a residence on 108th Street. 25 year old male located on scene was arrested and had been charged with Breach of an Undertaking. Will appear in North Battleford Provincial court at 930am on Friday December 20th.
633pm - Two vehicle collision on Railway Avenue East. Minor injuries reported and one vehicle towed from scene.
635pm - Report of unwanted, intoxicated guest on 103rd street. Subject left on his own when police called and not located.
724pm - 77 year old male arrested for Public Intoxication after complaint or intoxicated male refusing to leave a business when asked to. Held in custody until sober.
1032pm - Hit and run to a vehicle parked on Railway. Suspect vehicle described as a large, "jacked up" Chev pickup, possibly black in colour. Suspect vehicle should have front end damage. Complainant's vehicle suffered significant damage.
1036pm - Hit and run to a vehicle parked in a parking lot on Carlton Trail. Damage to driver's side brake light. No suspect vehicle information available.
1107pm - Loud arguing/yelling heard on street on 110th Street. Patrols to area negative.
136am - Unknown person knocking on a door to residence on 106th Street. Left unknown direction. Patrols of area were negative.
208am - Unknown person knocking on a door to residence on 103rd Street. No one located in area, and all patrols negative.
235am - Theft reported from business. Surveillance footage possibly available.
437am - Noise compliant on St. Laurent Driver. Warning under bylaw provided.
On Friday December 20, 2013 Rosthern RCMP were called to a house fire in the hamlet of Neuanlage. Upon arrival investigators found one house fully involved. The house was evacuated prior to police arrival, however, occupants' injuries, if any, are still being determined.
The Hague Fire Department is on scene and the and F Division Fire Scene Examiner Unit is being consulted. There is currently no danger to other nearby structures. The cause of the fire is not known at this time and the investigation is ongoing.

The Weyburn RCMP is seeking the public's assistance in solving the following crimes:
Sometime after close on Saturday Oct. 19, 2013 and store opening Saturday Oct. 21, 2013, the Beaubier COOP was the victim of a break and enter in which thieves made off with an undisclosed number of cartons of cigarettes. A second occurrence at the Beaubier COOP was discovered the morning of Nov 9th, 2013. Once again cigarettes were the target of the theft.
