White Butte RCMP is currently on the scene of a jackknifed semi-trailer on Hwy #1 near the Hwy #48 junction. The semi is blocking nearly both east bound lanes, reducing traffic flow. White Butte RCMP anticipates it will be several hours before the semi is removed from the scene. Motorists should expect delays.

RCMP continue to advise motorists to use caution when driving on highways in and around the Regina / Moose Jaw / Lumsden areas.

There continues to be numerous incidents where motorists have gone off the highway due to road conditions.

White Butte and Moose Jaw RCMP would like to warn motorists to use caution when driving on highways in and around the Regina / Moose Jaw areas.  With the warmer temperatures, the roads are getting more slippery as the day goes on.  The highways have the appearance of being clear and dry but this is not the case in many areas.  Members responding to accidents have noticed how slippery the roads are not only while driving, but also when walking outside their vehicles.

There have been a few minor incidents where motorists have gone off the highway - most of them occurring on Hwy #1 west between Pense and Caronport.  Nothing serious to report as of this time.
