Morse RCMP

3:00 p.m.

Morse RCMP Detachment is currently on scene of a single vehicle semi-tractor trailer unit rollover on Highway #1 between Ernfold and Chaplin, Saskatchewan. A semi was driving west bound on the highway, entered the ditch and rolled on its side.

The male driver of the semi was transported by ambulance to Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current with undetermined injuries.

Road conditions were good at the time of the rollover. The west bound lane of Highway #1 remains open. A tow truck has been dispatched to clear the semi from ditch. There is the potential for delays while the tow truck removes the rolled semi from the ditch.

The investigation continues into the cause of the rollover.

The autopsies were conducted yesterday in Saskatoon, on the two 7 month old infants from the Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation.  The Coroner advised that “the cause of death is pending toxicology, microscopic examination, micro biology cultures and neuro-pathology examination".  Reporting on the results from these tests could take as long as 3 months.

 

RCMP will provide further information relating to the autopsy as it becomes available.  The investigation into this matter is ongoing.

 

There has been a request from the family along with representatives of the First Nation that their privacy during this time of grief, be respected.

RCMP Major Crimes Unit North along with members of the La Ronge RCMP detachment have arrested a 27 year old male from Sucker River, Saskatchewan in relation to the death of Jodi Clarissa Roberts who had been reported missing November 6th, 2013 and whose remains were located on November 27, 2013.

 

On December 11, 2013, Ricky Jonathan ROSS (also known as Jonathon Ricky ROSS) was arrested and has been charged with First Degree Murder and Offering an Indignity to a Body.  He is scheduled to appear in court this morning at 9:30 am, in La Ronge Provincial Court.

758am - Single vehicle collision on 112th Street.  No injuries.  Some damage to a brick wall which was struck.  Road conditions at the time of the collision were a factor.

 

124pm - Theft reported on 108th Street.  Property improperly delivered to wrong address.

 

209pm - Fraud reported.  Complaint of photography services paid for but not yet received.

 

517pm - Report of intoxicated male passed out inside a building lobby.  45 year old male arrested for Public Intoxication.

 

1107pm - Stolen vehicle recovered on 105th Street, originally reported stolen on November 12th.
