RCMP – Confirmation of Investigation **Update**


Saskatchewan RCMP have been advised by the Regina Police Service that there is insufficient evidence to process with criminal charges in relation to allegations of inappropriate workplace behavior in the RCMP Regina Integrated Drug Unit.


In addition to the request for an independent investigation by the Regina Police Service, the RCMP was also conducting a Code of Conduct investigation.  This investigation has determined that there are no substantiated allegations against any serving members of the RCMP.

About 20 calls for service/occurrences reported.



753am - Complaint of threats being made.  Victim provided details but would not provide any statement.  Matter not pursued.


1125am - Child Welfare Act/Assault file forwarded via child protection worker.  No injuries, and matter remains under investigation.


221pm - 14 year old youth detained on 1400 block of 97th street after reports he was continually returning to school after suspension.  Subject located, warned and driven home by members.  No further issues reported.


437pm - Theft of materials from an industrial supply business on Thatcher Avenue.


534pm - 29 year old male arrested for Public Intoxication near 100th Street and 17 Avenue.  Held in custody until sober.


715pm - 17 year old youth in reported in violation of a court imposed curfew from previous days report, located by members and arrested.  Remains in custody.


824pm - Report of stolen bank card.  Suspect known to complainant.


943pm - Report of possible structure fire on Mackenzie King Crescent.  Home filling with smoke.  Found to be a problem related to furnace.  No fire or related damage.



106am - Complainants reporting their hotel room broken into and things thrown around.  Nothing appeared taken.


317am - 911 call to a residence on St. Laurent Drive.  Caller stated he wanted the police to come by as he needed a pop and some smokes.  Second call, he wanted police to bring him another mickey of Vodka.  Then stated he had a gun and made some threats to harm himself/others.  Upon arrival, male refused to exit residence when ordered to by members, and then fell asleep when members did not bring him the snacks he wanted.  The home was entered by police who arrested the 41 year old man and placed him into custody without incident.  A .22 calibre rifle and ammunition was located inside the residence and seized.  Male remains in custody and is facing charges of Careless use of a firearm, Unsafe storage of a firearm, Unauthorized possession of a firearm, and Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.  Due to a high level of intoxication at the time of arrest, his first appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court is expected to be Friday December 6th at 930am.



North Battleford RCMP

2013.12.05 140 am

13 year old Kiana BENSON has been located safely in North Battleford just after midnight when police received information regarding her whereabouts. The media attention given helped in locating her. Police returned BENSON to the care home where she resides.
