© Herald photo by KJ Dakin - Dorothy Pillar was the intended victim of a phone scam for almost $2,000 on Wednesday afternoon. She answered a call at 1:27 p.m. to hear the panicked voice of a young man claiming to be her "favourite grandson." He called her grandma and told her he was in trouble and needed her help. Above, Pillar sits beside the phone she answered a few hours before, counting her blessings that she wasn't quite taken in by the scammer.
