Len Klassen of the Saskatoon Quakers (left) watches as Al and Connie Logue shake hands with Prince Albert Icehawks president Al Pasloski during a special presentation at the team’s home opener on Tuesday night at the Kinsmen Arena. Announcer Wayne Mesenchuk, along with Zenon Markowski, Don Fauchouix and Merle Kozun (who is obscured) were also on hand for the presentation, which will see jerseys from Al and Connie’s late son Alan Vincent Hadley Logue displayed at the Kinsmen Arena. Alan played for both the Quakers and the Icehawks in the Prairie Junior Hockey League, plus the Prince Albert Mintos of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League, winning the first of the team’s two Telus Cups with them. He was diagnosed with AML leukemia in spring of 2011, passing away on Feb. 10, 2012. A scholarship established in his honour will be presented annually to a member of the Icehawks who is moving on to post-secondary education.
