Leica was around six weeks old when she was picked up by Animal Control on July 9. She had sarcoptic mange, which is caused by mange mites that burrow into the outer layers of a dog’s skin. The condition is very itchy which had caused Leica to scratch herself raw resulting in scabs and a secondary skin infection. Luckily for Leica it is also very treatable and she was put on medication the same day she arrived. Now fully recovered, other than some hair that will grow back, Leica is ready to find her forever home. She is such a happy puppy who loves to play with the other dogs and can't wait to start the next chapter of her life. Leica has been micro chipped and is up to date with routine vaccinations so if you'd like to meet her please stop by 680 Exhibition Drive or call our Animal Care Center at 1-306-763-6110 for more information.
