Crusaders, Marauders get ready for season openers

Published on September 3, 2012

The training camps are over and a controlled scrimmage is behind them, now it is time to get down to business for both Prince Albert high schools that will be competing in the Saskatoon High School Football League this season. Carlton Crusaders play the first of their seven league games this Thursday when they will host St. Joseph’s at 6:30 p.m. at Prime Ministers’ Park. The game will also mark the first to be played under the lights following a Friday Night Lights campaign this summer that raised funds so that Prince Albert could host evening contests. St. Mary Marauders open their season on Friday when they will host Bethlehem High School, also at Prime Ministers’ Park. Shown in the photo is Carlton quarterback Julian Bird taking the ball from the centre during a controlled scrimmage game with St. Mary on Saturday at Prime Ministers’ Park.
