Local resident John Steel wants the city to allow for more pigeon pets per citizen, allowing the city to have a pigeon racing club.
In most residential areas, the city only permits five pigeons per resident. Steel said that isn't enough to form a race team. He addressed council at Monday's council meeting at City Hall, requesting the pigeon limit be raised to 20 pigeons each.
Council referred Steel's requested animal control bylaw amendment to Prince Albert Police Services for review and report.
Homing pigeons are a domesticated rock pigeon variety, bred to return to their home from extremely long distances.
