The Prince Albert Raiders surrendered five unanswered goals as they fell to the Everett Silvertips 5-1 on Wednesday at Comcast Arena.

After Raiders forward Shane Danyluk struck five minutes into the opening period with the Raiders lone goal, the Silvertips netted a pair of goals in the first and second periods to lift them to their third victory in four games.

Defenceman Noah Juulsen's first career WHL goal late in the first period would stand as the game-winner as the Silvertips were three-for-six on the power play.

With the Raiders third straight defeat and a 2-0 Red Deer Rebels triumph over the Kamloops Blazers on Wednesday, the Raiders lost their soft grip on the Eastern Conference's eighth and final playoff spot.

Silvertips goalie Austin Lotz had an easy time between the pipes, facing just 19 shots while Raiders starter Cole Cheveldave stopped 25 of 30 as his record fell to 23-23-3.

The Raiders now sit ninth in the conference with 63 points, one back of the Rebels with a record of 29-30-5.

The Raiders will have two days off to recuperate from their lengthy six-game road trip before returning home to take on the Kootenay Ice on Saturday at the Art Hauser Centre.
