Raiders suffer third straight loss on the road

The Prince Albert Raiders suffered their third straight loss on the road, falling to the Medicine Hat Tigers 4-3 on Saturday at Medicine Hat Arena.

The Raiders capped off their road trip on Saturday, posting a record of 2-3-0 on the five-game stand.

Defenceman Tommy Vannelli netted a pair of goals for the Tigers, while defenceman Ty Stanton tallied the game-winner on the power play with six minutes remaining in the third period.

Raiders centre Reid Gardiner scored with right wing Dakota Conroy and centre Leon Draisaitl each netting the puck to extend their point streaks to six games.  

Tigers backstop Daniel Wapple stopped 26 of 29 shots in the win while on the other side of the ice, Raiders goalie Cole Cheveldave suffered his 11th loss of the season.

The Tigers went 2-for-5 on the power play and the Raiders went 1-for-4 with the man advantage.

With the win, the Tigers snapped a two-game losing streak, overtaking the Edmonton Oil Kings for first place in the Central Division.

The Raiders head back home where they will have three days rest before taking on the Oil Kings on Wednesday at the Art Hauser Centre.

RAIDER NOTES:  Not dressed for the Raiders on Saturday were Josh Morrissey, Mike Winther and Sawyer Lange … Morrissey and Winther are both out of the lineup with undisclosed injuries ... Right wing Dakota Conroy is riding a six-game point streak, he has scored a goal in three straight games. Conroy tallied his 100th WHL point against the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Friday … Defenceman Josh Morrissey overtook Dean Kolstad, Nick Schlutz and Dave Van Drunen for second in all-time scoring by a Raiders defenceman with 37 goals … Morrissey, who was invited to Team Canada's World Junior Championship selection camp on Monday, is expected to depart for the camp on Dec. 11 following a tilt against the Edmonton Oil Kings at the Art Hauser Centre  ... Centre Leon Draisaitl has posted points in all but eight games this season and has not gone longer than two games without a point ... Draisaitl was named CHL Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 1 on Tuesday.
