The Regina Rebels just have the Prince Albert A&W Bears’ number.
After sweeping the Bears in the Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League final last spring, the Rebels continued their mastery over Prince Albert with a 2-0 triumph on Friday at the Kinsmen Arena.
Prince Albert is the only team to beat the Rebels in the last two years as the Bears won a shootout decision in their second meeting last year giving Regina its only blemish in an other wise perfect season.
The two teams will meet again at 1:30 p.m. at the Art Hauser Centre to complete a weekend doubleheader.
Marlee Clarkson, on a first-period power-play, and Delaney Frey scored for the Rebels, who were playing their first game of the season.
Prince Albert, which had opened the season last weekend with a pair of extra-time wins over the Weyburn Gold Wings, got a 33-save performance from Jessica Vance. The Bears directed 25 shots at Tatum Shand in the Regina goal.
