The Prince Albert IceHawks will look for their first win on Sunday against the Cypress Cyclones.
Coming off a penalty-filled 7-1 loss to the Saskatoon Quakers at Kinsmen Arena on Tuesday, the Icehawks will look to improve upon their last place finish in the North Division last season.
The Icehawks finished 5-31-4 with a league worst 120 goals scored in the 40-game season.
The Icehawks met the Cyclones twice last season, losing both to a team that finished last in the South Division with a record of 9-29-2.
The Cyclones will open their season on the road at Kinsmen Arena, where the IceHawks have not won since Dec. 15.
The Cyclones will be without their most productive goal scorer from last season, Dallas McIntosh who is not listed on the Cyclones roster.
McIntosh scored 23 per cent of the Cyclones 127 goals last season, with 30 goals and 35 assists.
Ice Hawks leading scorer last season, Brett Boyer, is listed on the Ice Hawks roster however did not dress in Tuesday’s contest. Boyer tallied 25 goals and 17 assists in 34 games last campaign.
