The Prince Albert Raiders may soon be ready to soar after getting a little help from the Winnipeg Jets.
The NHL club sent the 18-year-old defenceman Josh Morrissey back to the Raiders on Tuesday as they sought to reduce the number of players in their camp.
In a Twitter message on Tuesday, Morrissey wrote “Heading back to PA today, thanks to the @NHLJets, Jets fans, and people of Winnipeg for everything over the last few weeks #GoJetsGo.”
He was selected 13th overall in the last NHL draft by the Jets after scoring 15 goals and adding 32 assists with 91 penalty minutes last season in the WHL for the Raiders.
Morrissey will speak to the media in Prince Albert on Wednesday afternoon.
