Carsen Chubak needs your help.
The Prince Albert goaltender, who is tending twine for the Niagara University Purple Eagles, was named player of the year at the Atlantic Hockey awards banquet last Thursday.
The honour came after a dream season for the former member of the Prince Albert Mintos.
Chubak went 20-3-2 in the regular season, ranking second in goals-against (1.82) and save percentage (.939). He was named the conference’s goalie of the week seven times and goaltender of the month twice.
Chubak earned a spot in the record books during conference play, when he registered three straight shutouts. His streak was finally snapped at 258 minutes and 32 seconds.
His success landed him a spot in phase two of voting for the annual Hobey Baker Award, which is given out to American college hockey’s top player. To vote for the Prince Albert product, go to www.hobeybakeraward.com and follow the huge link on the front page to the voting page.
As of Thursday evening, he was in last place with just nine votes while the leader had 148.
