Bears land two major league awards

A couple of Prince Albert A&W Bears have taken home some hardware from the Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League.

Lexi Van Camp of Melfort was named the top scholastic player while Jeff Willoughby was named top coach.

As Daily Herald readers learned on Friday, Dave Leaderhouse was given the Esso Cup Volunteer Award.

In other awards:

• MVP -- Alana Serhan, (from) Porcupine Plain, (team) Melville Prairie Fire.

• Most sportsmanlike -- Hannah Heisler, Moose Jaw

Regina Rebels.

• Top Defenseman -- Nikki Watters-Matthes, Regina, Regina Rebels.

• Top Rookie -- Tessa Wilson, Mazenod, Weyburn Gold Wings.

• Top Goalie -- Jane Kish, Weyburn, Weyburn Gold Wings.

• Top Scorer -- Hannah Heisler, Moose Jaw, Regina Rebels.
