Dale Henry, 48, was shot at close range while asleep in his home in Ranong, Thailand. His 27-year-old wife, her lover and the alleged gunman have been arrested for the killing.

Dale worked in the oil industry in Nigeria. He spent one out of every three months in Thailand with his wife, Maneerat.

Dale grew up in Victoria and worked in Alberta as a paramedic. It was more recently that he started working in West Africa as the regional head of safety for Noble Drilling.

"It just makes me sick," said Dale's brother, Richard in the Vancouver airport. "He was such a trusting guy and he was way too generous."

Dale's cousin, Tracy Meyers resides in Prince Albert. She said that when Dale was younger he spent a lot of his time in Prince Albert.

Dale's father, George, lived in Prince Albert and is buried in the city.

"We were estranged for a number of years," said Meyers of her relationship with Dale. "We reconnected about 10 years ago."

"In about three weeks," Meyers said, "his remains are going to be brought to Prince Albert."
