The Saskatchewan Rivers Dragons’ dreams of winning a provincial title were snuffed out on the weekend when they placed fourth at the Saskatchewan Rugby Union championship in Regina.
The Dragons won their opening game over Regina Leboldus in the double-knockout format, but lost their next two matches to Notre Dame and Leboldus. Lashburn had already been eliminated leaving Notre Dame, the Saskatoon All-Blacks and Leboldus claiming the medals.
The Dragons will return to North Saskatchewan Rugby Union action on Tuesday when they play their final home game of the season at 6 p.m. at Prime Ministers’ Park against the Springboks from Saskatoon.
The Dragons are 3-2 in regular-season action including a 27-24 victory over the Springboks in their previous meeting.
