Celtic sweep PSL matches
The Prince Albert Celtic under-14 boys had little trouble getting the ball to the net in Premier Soccer League action on the weekend as they picked up their first two wins of the season with a 3-1 triumph over the Unidad Juniors from Regina on Saturday and a 6-2 decision over Yorkton United on Sunday. Sebastian Amezquita, with two goals, and Kristopher Kriel scored for the Celtic on Saturday while Kriel led the way with a hat-trick on Sunday. Also scoring for Prince Albert against Yorkton were Shane Cabilao, Kolton Paulsen and Brady Watchel. The under-14 boys, who are now 2-1-1 on the season, will remain at home next weekend when they will host the Lakewood Atletico from Saskatoon at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Prime Ministers’ Park. The under-14 girls also had a doubleheader on the weekend, but results from their games in Regina were unavailable. They will play their home opener on Saturday at 1 p.m. when the SUSC Spartans from Saskatoon will visit PMP. The under-18 boys, who are 1-1-0, had the weekend off and will get back to work this weekend when they will play Unidad at Mosaic Stadium in Regina. The under-16 boys, who are 0-0-1, were also idle with their next game not until June 21 when they will host Unidad from Regina at PMP. The under-16/18 girl’s squad does not see its first action of the season until June 21 when Unidad will visit PMP for the first game of a home-and-home series. Shown in the photo is action from the under-14 boy’s game on Sunday with a Prince Albert player (striped jersey) attempting to gain control of the ball from a Yorkton defender.
