Predators win season opener

The Prince Albert Predators burst out of the gate scoring the first three goals of their Prairie Gold Junior Lacrosse League season-opener and then hung on to defeat the Estevan Big Dogs 10-8 in a game played at the Kinsmen Arena on Saturday night. Brady Leachman, Tyler Tilford and Taylor Wilcox each had a pair of tallies to lead the Predators offensively while Brody Low, Reid Corrigal, Carson Remy and Jamieson Bird had singles. The Predators will return to action this Saturday when they will host the Saskatoon Smash at 7 p.m. at the Kinsmen Arena. Prince Albert will play its first three league games at home before heading to Regina at the end of the month for the first-ever league festival that includes three neutral-site games and the all-star competition. Shown in the photo is a Predator playing battling for control of the ball during first-period action on Saturday.
