Smashing Bananas win provincial gold medal

The Prince Albert Volleyball Club's U18 Smashing Bananas ended a seven-year drought when they captured the gold medal at the Saskatchewan Volleyball Association's provincial championships in Saskatoon on Sunday. The Smashing Bananas, who last won the U18 boy's provincial title in 2007, defeated the South East Giants 24-26, 25-19, 15-13 in Sunday's championship final. Members of the gold-medal squad are shown in the photo. They are: front row, from left, Dominik Pytlak, Austin Oleksyn, Shane Maruschak, Ty Archer, Nathan Gaudet and Skylar Haugen. In the back row, from left, are coach Terry Gaudet, Luke Buettner, Matthew Boyenko, Cam Mitchell, Aaron Halyk, Arliss McCloy, Thomas Parenteau and Connor Waterman. Missing are Colton De Mong, assistant coach Terry Springett and assistant coach Adam Halyk.

    Do you realize the coach's name "Terry Gaudet of Ecole St.Isidore " has been totally omitted, not even mentioned with the names of those on Herald photo. The absent coaches are named, but no mention of the active coach who trained these kids to win

    Congratulations to the Smashing Bananas but the article doesn't mention the coach, Terry Gaudet who is on the far left of the second row. Congratulations go out to him also for his dedication to the sport.
