St. Mary going for repeat in 4A senior boy's basketball after win on Friday

The St. Mary senior boy's basketball team will be shooting for a second straight Saskatchewan High School Association 4A championship today after easily disposing of Weyburn in a semifinal match at HOOPLA on Friday.

The Marauders got 20 points from Austin Oleksyn to cruise past Weyburn 92-65 and advance to today's gold-medal game against the No. 1-seeded Moose Jaw Peacock.

Evan Parchomchuk and Aaron Halyk each had 17 points while Connor Murray and Brandon Bonneau added 16 points each. The Marauders hauled in a total of 69 rebounds in the game with Halyk leading the way with 18.

The championship game goes at 5 p.m. today in Regina.

In other HOOPLA news, Kinistino was bumped from contention in 1A girl's action after losing 72-60 to Kenaston on Friday. Kinistino will be playing Regina Harvest City in the bronze medal game in that division later today.
