What has turned into a marathon rather than a sprint will come to an end sometime this weekend as the Prince Albert A&W Bears and Notre Dame Hounds have tinkered with their schedule to get the Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League quarter-final series completed as soon as possible.

Game 3 of the series was to have been played on Thursday, but the Hounds encountered problems travelling to Prince Albert and were forced to return home.

Therefore, the third game of the best-of-five series has been rebooked for the Art Hauser Centre at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday and a Prince Albert victory would move them into the league semifinals.

Should Notre Dame win that game, a fourth match is scheduled for Wilcox on Sunday and if the series is extended to the limit a fifth and deciding game would then be played at the Art Hauser Centre at 7 p.m. on Monday.

Prince Albert captured the first two games by scores of 3-2 and 3-1, but it has been five days since they last faced each other. The other three quarter-final match-ups were all settled in the minimum three games with the Regina Rebels, Weyburn Gold Wings and Swift Current Wildcats waiting in the wings.

Should Prince Albert go on and win the series they will take on the Gold Wings in the next round. A Notre Dame upset would put the Hounds against the Rebels.
