Could this be the night?

The Shellbrook Elks will be looking to wrap up the Saskatchewan Hockey Association’s Senior AAA Men’s hockey championship on Friday when they host the Rosetown Red Wings at 7 p.m. at the Shellbrook Arena.

The Elks grabbed a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-five final last weekend when they edged the defending provincial champion Red Wings 3-2 in double overtime.

Shellbrook had a chance to win the title a year ago when they were up two games to none in their first foray at the Senior AAA level, but Rosetown stormed back to win the next three games and advance to the Allan Cup championship.

Should Shellbrook win on Friday they will go on to face the Manitoba champion in a regional final with the winner of that series moving on to the Allan Cup tournament in Dundas, Ont., in April.
