St. Mary hoops tourney under way

The annual St. Mary High School senior boy's basketball tournament is in full swing with eight teams seeking to win the championship. The host Marauders got off to a good start with an easy win over Moose Jaw Vanier in the opening contest on Friday while Carlton Comprehensive High School is also entered in the event, but results were unavailable for their game against Saskatoon Mount Royal. Other teams in the tournament include Moose Jaw Central, North Battleford Composite, Yorkton and Swift Current. Action continues all day Saturday with the bronze-medal match set to start at 6 p.m. followed by the gold-medal clash at 7:30 p.m. Shown in the photo is action from Friday's game between St. Mary and Moose Jaw with players from both teams battling for control over a rebound.
