The Dmyterko Enterprises Raiders had some early Christmas cheer as they were victorious in all three games this week heading into the holiday break.
The Raiders edged Watson 3-2 on Wednesday and then outscored the West Central Red Wings 4-3 and 7-2 in a weekend doubleheader to improve to 8-9-4 on the season and solidify their grip on fifth place in the Centre-Four Hockey League midget division standings.
Zach Hurd, Connor Craig and Josh McDougall scored for Prince Albert in the win over Watson with Tanner Fiddler, Donovan Mirasty, Hurd and Craig tallying in the opening game against West Central. Fiddler was the offensive catalyst in the finale scoring three times with singles coming from Austin Odnokon, Breylan Fiset, Dillon Zuck and Hurd.
The Raiders will now have more than two weeks off as they don’t return to action until Jan. 9 when they face the Blackhawks at Beardy’s.
Venice House Raiders
The Prince Albert Venice House Raiders also had three games this week leading up to the Christmas break, but just a 9-2 result in favour of the Raiders over the Saskatoon Outlaws was available.
Prince Albert, which improved to 6-4-4 in the Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League with the lopsided victory earlier in the week, had a pair of games in Regina on the weekend, but results from matches against the Foxes and Pat Blues were unavailable.
Against the Outlaws, Riley Sawchuk had a huge game netting three goals and setting up two others while Owen Ozar chipped in with a pair of tallies. Single goals were scored by Jake Koroluk, Ryan Hordal, Mason Issel, Jacob Dumont and Ethan Regnier. Kyle Schneider was the top playmaker with three assists while Brendl Daniels collected a pair of helpers.
Venice House is off now until Jan. 4 when they will travel to Kindersley to take on West Central. The next home game for the Raiders is Jan. 8 when the Saskatoon Bandits will make a visit to the Kinsmen Arena with that game starting at 6:15 p.m.
The Prince Albert NAPA Raiders are finished with their pre-Christmas portion of the schedule and will next see action on Jan. 4 when they travel to Dodsland to face West Central in a Centre-Four Hockey League pee wee division tilt.
The Raiders, who are 8-4-1 and tied for second place in the league standings, will get a healthy fill of West Central early in the New Year as they will also meet them in Kindersley on Jan. 5 before returning to Prince Albert on Jan. 12 for an 11:15 a.m. game at the Steuart Arena.
