The Prince Albert Icehawks put the finishing touches on their Prairie Junior Hockey League exhibition schedule tonight at 7:30 p.m. when they host the Tri-Town Thunder at the Kinsmen Arena.
The Icehawks are 1-2-0 in pre-season play with their lone victory coming on Wednesday when they outscored the Thunder in a game played in Nipawin.
Brendon Boyer led the way offensively with two goals and two assists while Brett Boyer and Parker Turner each had a goal and two helpers. Brent Bremner and Brandon Carlson also scored for Prince Albert.
The Icehawks will use tonight’s game to finalize their roster as the regular season is set to begin on Tuesday. Prince Albert opens the regular season at home that night when they will face the Saskatoon Quakers at 7:30 p.m. at the Kinsmen Arena.
With as many as a dozen players returning from last year, the club is hoping to vastly improve on its five-win season and once again make it to the playoffs, something the team did in each of its first four seasons of its existence.
