Prince Albert Volleyball Club Smashing Bananas posted the best result over the weekend as several local squads saw action in provincial tournaments.
The Bananas slipped in the final to Saskatoon JCVC Papayas in Sask Cup #2 on Sunday in Nipawin, losing 25-22, 25-21. Their provincial championship will be held from April 19-21.
In other action:
• Prince Albert Volleyball Club Fusion finished eighth in the 13U Women Sask Cup #2 Tier 1 division in Saskatoon. Their provincial championship will be held from April 26-28.
• In the bronze medal match of the 14U Men Sask Cup #2 Tier 1 division in Saskatoon, the Prince Albert Volleyball Club Smashing Bananas Gold topped the Prince Albert Volleyball Club Smashing Bananas 13U. Their provincial championship will be held from April 26-28.
• In the 16U Women Sask Cup #2 Tier 2 division in Saskatoon, the Prince Albert Optimist Toppers Esprit finished seventh. Their division’s championship will be held from May 3-5 in Saskatoon.
• In Tier 3 action, Prince Albert Optimist Toppers En Fuego finished seventh and Prince Albert Optimist Toppers Peligro finished ninth.
