Local judo athletes earn medals

Chelys Vallejo brought home a little silver from her Florida vacation.

The Prince Albert judo practitioner finished second in Miami, Fla., at the Grand Masters World Championships.

In the F2 +78kg Category Chelys won a silver medal, going 3-1. She also competed in the open weight division and won another SIlver.

Meanwhile, Josh Guthrie and Blair Taylor travelled to Fort Saskatchewan to attend the University of Alberta Invitational last weekend.

Josh went unbeaten in three matches en route to earning a gold medal in the U15 -60kg category going 3-0.

Blair Taylor won two silver medals in the Senior Men -100kg category and Veterans +90kg category.
