McNeill named WHL player of the week

Prince Albert Raiders captain Mark McNeill is the Denny’s Western Hockey League Player of the Week.

In three games last week, had two goals, five assists for seven points along with a plus-3 rating in the past week.

The Edmonton product recorded his 200th career point on Saturday with an assist. It moves him into 19th spot on the Raiders all-time scoring list.

McNeill heads to British Columbia this week to participate in the 2012 Subway Super Series, as Team WHL takes on the Russian National Junior Team on Wednesday in Vancouver.

The team’s next home game is Nov. 24 against the Brandon Wheat Kings.
