A new wave of treatment to help busy people tone up and lose inches off their body has come to Prince Albert.
My Time for Tone Time opened at the beginning of the month. Owner Wendy Pellegrini said Eurowave treatments are quick, easy and safe. Getting an 18-minute treatment on stomach muscles is the equivalent of doing 200 situps, she said.
"If you came once the results can last five to six days and you can lose a half to one inch. On rare occasions people have lost five inches in one session," said Pellegrini.
During a session, a person is hooked up to a machine that delivers electronic muscle stimulation. Muscles need stimulation to become stronger. The treatment contracts muscles for the person, which tightens and tones them.
When a person works out at the gym they are working superficial muscles, said Pellegrini, but the Eurowave stimulates the deep muscles that are often hard to work.
"It helps get that muscle tone back you lost in pregnancy, surgery or in weight gain," said Pellegrini, who is a substitute teacher.
There's no soreness after a Eurowave session, either. Pellegrini says soreness is caused by lactaid buildup but when muscles are stimulated electronically that doesn't occur.
Pellegrini said she decided to get a Eurowave machine after visiting with her sister's friend. The B.C. company that produces the machine only allows one to be operating in Prince Albert. Pellegrini thought she'd snap up the business opportunity before anyone else did.
She underwent training and started doing sessions at the beginning of November. So far people like it, she said. After 10 sessions a person should be one pant size smaller and the results last six to eight months, said Pellegrini. The treatments help firm the buttocks or lift the bust, or tone any other part of the body.
The sessions should not be mistaken for weight loss, however.
"Weight loss is up to the person to do," said Pellegrini, reiterating that Eurowave tones muscles and takes inches away from the body.
Pellegrini's advice is to both work out and undergo Eurowave for optimum results.
"If you worked out and did this you'd get phenomenal results."
Most of her clients are women.
"Some women don't have time to work out at the gym so this is perfect for them. The results are also faster than going to the gym," she said of her home-based business.
However, it's also great for men looking to tone up, perhaps get that six-pack they've been working towards.
The added bonus to the quick and easy results is that for some people going to the gym isn't an option due to back problems or other ailments, so Eurowave is like a gym session.
