Idle No More rally (continued) - Dec. 21, 2012

Prince Albert’s Dec. 21 rally in support of the Idle No More movement attracted hundreds of indigenous and non-indigenous activists who came out in defence of the environment and native treaty rights, which they say are under threat from new federal legislation such as Bill C-45. Protesters began with a round dance at Central Avenue and 15th Street before marching to First Avenue West, down 12th Street and on to City Hall. Later they moved to St. Alban’s Cathedral for coffee and learn-ins -- but not before stopping by Conservative MP and C-45 supporter Randy Hoback’s office. Herald photos by Matt Gardner
