The 2014 Canadian Challenge Sled Dog Race kicked off at noon on Tuesday. Finally starting in downtown Prince Albert after a few years’ north of the river due to questionable ice stability, this year’s event benefitted from an ample audience of onlookers who gathered on Central Avenue to send off the teams. The race featured participants in the 520 kilometre 12-dog race, the 320 kilometre eight dog race and the 120 kilometre open race. Check the Daily Herald website and print edition throughout the week for more on the race. The following are some pictures taken at the start line on Central Avenue.
