Premier Brad Wall, Devine protégé, paid from the public purse 90 per cent of his working life, relentlessly and secretly privatizes service Crowns that help finance programs dear to Saskatchewan’s citizens.
Promises not to privatize Crowns, protect Medicare, follow Calvert’s environmental GHG reduction plan, and fight for equalization payments facilitated Sask. Party being elected. Promises not kept!
Beholden to hand-picked privatization-minded entities, Enterprise Saskatchewan and Sask First, Wall and Cheveldayoff privatized profitable crown assets, confiscated profits and privatized Crown Land with no owners’ consent. Sasktel and Sask Energy have been especially hard hit.
Wall’s lust to privatize Medicare, Social Services and Education had him secretly hire Black’s U.S. Corporation to overhaul these service-providers through “Lean,” a plan to improve Toyota’s production and profits.
Despite immense service- provider and public opposition to government-imposed, cult-like model replacing caring, sharing and time dedication needed to service patients and students, Wall wastes taxpayer dollars on “Lean.”
Instead of improving public facilities he introduced private surgical clinics, has scans read by private facilities, closed public hospital laundry services and ships laundry to an Alberta private company; 360 local Saskatchewan jobs were lost while millions of taxpayers’ dollars go to Alberta.
His Education Ministry’s war on Education took funding responsibilities from school boards, introduced (P3s) bundling the building of schools by private companies and workers, a medical doctor writing regulations for teachers (his profession regulates itself), unacceptable salary settlements, changed the formula plan and forces teachers to pay more for their pension plan.
Public ownership has been proven more efficient and financially viable.
