Nipawin RCMP

2014-06-17

Nipawin RCMP’s investigation relating to the break and enter on June 15, 2014 has resulted in a fourth person being charged.

 

Nipawin RCMP have arrested and charged 30-year-old Magnus Kitchemonia of Nipawin, Saskatchewan, with:

·         one count of break and enter and did commit aggravated assault, section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada

·         one count of aggravated assault, section 268 of the Criminal Code of Canada.

Kitchemonia will remain in custody until he appears in Nipawin Provincial Court on Wednesday, June 18th, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.

Wollaston Lake RCMP

2014-06-17

2:00 p.m.

 

On June 10, 2014, shortly after 1:30 a.m., an off-duty member of the

Wollaston Lake RCMP Detachment was involved in an ATV collision on Bay

Road, just outside Wollaston Lake.  As a result of the collision, the

member was transported to hospital in Saskatoon with what is reported as

a serious head injury.

 

Investigators have determined that the member was off-duty and

returning to the community when the collision occurred.  An on-duty

member from the Wollaston Lake Detachment was conducting a patrol when

he saw the off-duty member driving the ATV.  The on-duty member saw the

ATV navigate a curve and then subsequently roll.  The member was thrown

from the ATV.

 

The ATV involved in the collision is an RCMP ATV.  Investigators are

working to determine why the member was using the vehicle while

off-duty.  

 

Investigators believe the member was not wearing a helmet at the time

of the collision.

 

The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of Collision

Reconstructionists and the General Investigation Section.  The “F”

Division Staff Relations Representatives, Chaplin and District

Management Team are providing assistance to the member’s family and

Detachment colleagues.  The member is an experienced, male, constable

with more than 10 years of service.

Nipawin RCMP

10:08 a.m.

 

Nipawin RCMP have charged the third involved person regarding the break and enter that occurred in Nipawin on June 15, 2014.

 

19-year-old Nathan Pelly of Nipawin, Saskatchewan, has been charged with the following:

 

1) Break and enter with intent to attempt murder, section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.

 

2) Attempt murder, section 239(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.

 

Pelly has been remanded into custody and is set to appear in Nipawin Provincial Court on Wednesday, June 18 at 10:00 a.m.

Yorkton RCMP 

 

On Thursday June 12, 2014 Yorkton Municipal RCMP and Yorkton Provincial GIS Unit entered into a drug investigation and conducted two vehicle stops. As a result of those two vehicle stops and further investigation the following people have been charged:

 

1)      William Henry Charles CRAWFORD 27 years old of Yorkton, Saskatchewan is charged with:

a.       Trafficking in Cocaine contrary to S.5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

b.      Possession of Cocaine contrary to S. 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

c.       Possession of Cannabis Marihuana contrary to S. 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

d.      Possession of Methamphetamine contrary to S. 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

e.      Possession of Proceeds obtained by Crime contrary to S.354(1)(a) and 355(b) of Criminal Code.

f.        Possession of a Prohibited Weapon contrary to S.91(2) of the Criminal Code.

g.       Possession of a Weapon contrary to a Prohibition Order contrary to S.117.01(1) of the Criminal Code.

 

2)      Verna Ann Renee WATRYCH, 32 years old from Bredenbury, Saskatchewan is charged with:

a.       Trafficking in Hydromorphone contrary to S.5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

b.      Possession of Cocaine contrary to S. 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

c.       Possession of Hydromorphone contrary to S. 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

d.      Possession of Proceeds obtained by Crime contrary to S.354(1)(a) and 355(b) of Criminal Code.

 

RCMP Members seized the following items during the vehicle stops: Prescription pills, Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Cannabis Marihuana, money, and a switch blade.

 

This matter remains under investigation by the Yorkton Municipal RCMP in conjunction with the Yorkton Provincial GIS Unit and additional charges are pending.

815 am - Caller calling 911 to report a car/pedestrian collision from a week earlier.

 

857 am - Vehicle broken into overnight on 1700 block of 98th Street.

 

304 pm - Complaint of two persons fighting/arguing on 12th Avenue.  Investigation ongoing.

 

824 pm - Shoplifting complaint from a business on 101st Street.

 

849 pm - Call of a familial dispute.  Members attended and mediated a minor disagreement.

 

1035 pm - Report of harassing text messages being received.  Investigation ongoing.

 

1037 pm - Caller reporting spouse is intoxicated and freaking out at residence.  He left on foot while caller on phone and subject not located.

 

1056 pm - 51 year old male arrested and charged for public intoxication, found extremely intoxicated on Railway Avenue East.

157 am - Report of a large fight at the entrance to a bar.  Members attended and interrupted a group of people arguing.  Subjects separated, outstanding bills were addressed and escorted from the premises.

 

400 am - Report of two males possibly looking into vehicles on 101st Crescent.  Patrols of area negative.
