2014-06-09

2:00 pm

On June 6, 2014 at approximately 11:55 am the Ponteix RCMP responded to a motor vehicle collision involving three eastbound motorcycles on Highway #13 at Ponteix, SK.  A 51 year old male from Swift Current, Sk., was transported by ambulance to Lafleche, SK and then transported by STARS to Regina General Hospital. He was later reported to be in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.  A 41 year old female from Medicine Hat, Ab., was treated at Gravelbourg Hospital for minor injuries and released.

Investigation thus far has revealed that the 41 year old female along with some other uninvolved riders had been slowing down on the highway.  The 51 year old male did not slow down and clipped the right side of the female's motorcycle.  The male then went into the ditch and the female was knocked over on the road.

A third motorcycle driven by a 50 year old female from Medicine Hat, was not directly involved in the collision but had laid down her motorcycle as she was startled by the accident ahead of her.  She had minor injuries that did not require medical treatment.

The three were travelling together in a larger group as part of an event that was travelling through the Ponteix area.
