On December 5, 2013, the Detachment Commander for Maidstone RCMP was removed from his command after information was received by senior management that there may have been inappropriate workplace behavior. The member is a male, Sergeant with more than 20 years of service.
An internal Code of Conduct investigation has been initiated as of this morning. The RCMP takes these types of situations very seriously which is why the member was removed from the workplace and an internal code of conduct investigation ordered.
As with all investigations, the RCMP will not be releasing the name of the member who is the subject of the internal code of conduct investigation. If it is determined this employee contravened the Code of Conduct and informal disciplinary action is sufficient, this action is considered Personal Information as defined in Section 3 of the Privacy Act. If it is determined that formal discipline is warranted, then a formal disciplinary hearing is initiated. The results of these hearings are open to the public and are available upon request (not through a formal Access to Information and Privacy request). If there are statutory charges, the name of the member will be released through a media release.

Moose Jaw RCMP 2013-12-23 1:35 pm Moose Jaw RCMP are on scene of an accident approximately 40 kms on Hwy #1 west of Moose Jaw and are reporting that there is zero visibility at times due to blowing snow. Prince Albert RCMP
At approximately 6:40 a.m. on Monday, December 23, 2013, Prince Albert RCMP responded to a single semi-tractor trailer unit fire on Highway #11, 16 kilometers south of Prince Albert. A semi-tractor trailer unit traveling in the north bound lane had its brakes freeze up due to the extreme cold, and the brakes started on fire.
The male driver of the semi unhooked the semi-tractor from the semi-trailer, which was carrying groceries to Prince Albert. Prince Albert Fire and Rescue responded, but the semi-trailer fire could not be extinguished and it was completely destroyed. The semi-tractor unit was not damaged. The driver of the semi did not sustain any injuries.
Road conditions were good at the time of the incident. Extreme temperature is considered a factor. Highway #11 was closed due to the fire, but has since been re-opened.
Prince Albert RCMP would like to thank Prince Albert Fire and Rescue and Department of Highways for their assistance.
