PAPS canine unit deployed during weekend

The Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) responded to approximately 192 calls for service over the weekend and made a total of 34 arrests, 21 of the arrests for persons being intoxicated in a public place.


The majority of calls for service were related to intoxicated persons, disturbances and loud parties.

One file of note was patrol members responded to the 2800 block of Sixth Ave East for a report of a break and enter to a business.

Once there, members contacted canine unit to come to the scene. Police service dog, Jagger, was deployed from the scene.

Jagger and his handler located a 16-year-old boy from Prince Albert, who has been charged with break and enter and breach of probation. He will appear in court on Monday.
