Body found in rubble of Prince Albert house fire

UPDATE: Prince Albert Police on Tuesday morning announced that a deceased person was found inside the home on the 500 block of 23rd Street East that was the scene of a house fire on Monday night.

The identity of the deceased has not been confirmed at this time.  An autopsy has been ordered by the Office of the Chief Coroner. 

The Forensic Identification Section, the Office of the Chief Coroner, Fire Investigators and Criminal Investigation Division are at scene conducting an investigation. 

 

A late evening fire in Prince Albert has left a home on 23rd Street East almost completely gutted.

Prince Albert Fire, Paramedics and Police were on scene of the fire that had both flames and smoke pouring out of the structure before fire crews had it under control and then extinguished.

The home appears to be a total loss.

Police and fire crews are looking for any witnesses who may have had any video from the scene soon after the fire started. Anyone who has such video can contact Prince Albert Police at 306-953-4222 or Prince Albert Fire at 306-953-4200.
