Local musician Violet Naytowhow kicks off the Fifth Annual Spruce River Folk Festival on Saturday.

With sunbeams trickling down on them, the music has begun at the Spruce River Folk Festival.

Located on organizer Ray Funk’s property about 20 kilometres north of Prince Albert, the event has an eclectic range of musicians to draw from.

Violet Naytowhow has already performed (as of about 1:45 p.m.), with Java Time, The Buhler Boys, The Lost Keys, All Mighty Voice and Constant Reminder set to also perform.

Various food vendors are on site, serving a range of dishes, including a delicious fish fry.

Admission is $10 per person or $20 per family, with tickets available at the front gate.
