A stolen purse was recovered while the suspected thief remained MIA on Monday.

Prince Albert police were initially dispatched to a home in the 300 block of 13th Street East after receiving a report of a break and enter that had just occurred.

Officers were told that a male suspect had entered the residence through an unlocked door and stolen a purse while the homeowner was inside. A neighbour saw the suspect flee from the residence down an alley.

Police service dog Jagger was called out to the scene and conducted a track. While the purse and its contents were located, the suspect was not.

The suspect is described as an aboriginal male, 14 or 15 years old, with collar-length hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing a faded green hoodie and faded blue jeans.

The matter remains under investigation.
