Visit restrictions are currently in place at the Jubilee Lodge in Kinistino.
The Prince Albert Parkland Health Region announced the restrictions on Thursday, with medical health officer Dr. Khami Chokani declaring it an outbreak the previous day.
Individuals who have shown symptoms are isolated and signs have been placed to inform staff and visitors that an outbreak is in effect.
Although visitors have been asked to reschedule their visits, some leeway has been made for urgent or compassionate reasons. Those wishing to visit a resident must phone the facility in advance for further instruction.
The outbreak does not affect access to the Kinistino Health Centre, which is located in the same building.
Health region officials are reminding the public that proper hand hygiene and cough etiquette reduce the risk of getting or spreading respiratory illness, including colds and influenza.
Those who are already ill are asked to not visit any long-term care facilities, even if there there is no an outbreak in effect.
